The 20th Cyprus International Film Festival - Golden Aphrodite CYIFF and the 5th WIFT CY Women in Film and Television Cyprus Festival (22–27 September 2025, Melina Merkouri Hall, Nicosia) is a well-established institution that combines screenings of 115 films from 52 countries with conferences, artistic events, and educational activities.
This anniversary edition places special emphasis on gender equality, peace, and environmental awareness through dedicated awards (Women Films, 50/50 Award, Environment & Peace), the Cyprus Women Environmental Peacemakers (CWEP) conference, as well as the world premiere of the song “CWEP – Cyprus Women Environmental Peacemakers” performed by the Bicommunal Choir for Peace – Lena Melanidou.
This year, the Festival highlights the role of women in culture, promotes reconciliation, showcases Cyprus as a meeting point of civilizations, and actively contributes to women’s empowerment, the visibility of their role in society, and the strengthening of dialogue on peace, inclusion, and equality.
