Shui Was Invited To Participate In The 19th Venezuela World Poetry Festival
From July 12th to 20th, Venezuela held the 19th World Poetry
Festival, and the famous Chinese poet, writer, playwright, and translator Cao
Shui was invited to participate. Cao Shui recited his representative works
"The Great Dance of Sorrow," "The Temptation of the Tower of
Babel," "The Mermaid," and "The Shape of the Palestinian
Son" at a Venezuelan theater, which was warmly welcomed by Venezuelan
audiences. He was interviewed by media such as the Venezuelan National
Television (RNT) and received an audience with Mr. Zhou Haiping, the Cultural
Commissioner of the Chinese Embassy in Venezuela. During the Poetry Festival,
Cao Shui also won the World Peace Literature Award and the United Nations World
Excellence Award, and awarded the Great Poetry Movement Medal to the Poetry
Festival President Anna Maria Oviedo. On his way back to China, Cao Shui also
visit to Türkiye. Nurduran Duman, a famous Turkish poet and translator,
held a special recitation for him. The Enlightenment of Türkiye
gave him an exclusive interview with the theme of "The Great Poetry
Movement is the Trend of the World".
On the evening of July 17th, a recitation was held at a
Venezuelan theater and broadcasted live on national television. Chinese poet
Cao Shui recited "The Great Dance of Sorrow," "The Temptation of
the Tower of Babel," "The Mermaid," and "The Shape of the
Palestinian Son”. Firstly, deliver a speech introducing the Great Poetry Movement,
and then recite representative works such as "The Great Dance of Sorrow"
in both Chinese and English. After each recitation, thunderous applause is
welcomed. After the recitation, many Venezuelan readers called Cao Shui "China
Cao" and invited him to take a photo. The Venezuelan National Television
(RNT) conducted an exclusive interview with Cao Shui.
Cao said to Venezuelan national television: 'I am Cao Shui, from China on the far side of the earth.'. It is 6:00 p.m. in Caracas, and we are reading poems. But it is 6:00 a.m. in Beijing, and the Chinese are still dreaming, which is like a miracle. Americans have the American dream, Chinese people have the Chinese dream, but Venezuela has the world dream. So the World Poetry Festival is great, and Venezuela is great. Humans come from the same place and will inevitably unite in the same world. I advocate the Great Poetry Movement, hoping to integrate Eastern and Western cultures, ancient and modern cultures, sacred and secular cultures, to create a great poetry. The theme of my poetry is: Human beings share the same origin, the world will be united as one. “The Temptation of the Tower of Babel "tells the story of humanity's longing for light and unity. As we step out of the Tower of Babel, we will also return to it.
On the 18th, July, Mr. Zhou Haiping, Cultural Commissioner of the Chinese Embassy in Venezuela, met Chinese poet Cao Shui and congratulated him on participating in the 19th Venezuela World Poetry Festival. He praised the style of Chinese poets in Latin America and showcased the great image of Chinese culture. Ana Maria Oviedo Palomares, the president of the Venezuela World Poetry Festival, the coordinator of the World Poetry Movement in Venezuela , said in an interview with the Xinhua News Agency reporter: The presence of Chinese poet Cao Shui at the Venezuela World Poetry Festival is undoubtedly of great significance to deepening the relationship between the two peoples. The two peoples have established a strategic alliance in economic and technological fields. We know that culture is a unique way to establish strong and spiritual connections, making true integration of civilizations possible.
Cao Shui is one of the representative poets of the post-80s generation in China. In recent years, he has participated in a series of international activities such as the Homer International Poetry Festival in Türkiye, the Medellin International Poetry Festival, and the International Writing Plan of the Chinese Writers Association. His works have been translated into 30 languages, including English, French, German, Russian, Japanese, Greek, Indian, Italian, Spanish, Türkiye, and Arabic. More than 30 famous poets have written comments in the international poetry world, and he has been called the representative poet of "the young generation leading the new world" by the outstanding Indian poet Rati Saxena. He translated five books including "The Footsteps of Istanbul" and is an internationally renowned poet, known as the "International Cao" in the Chinese poetry world and also known as the "China Cao" in the international poetry world. He has crossed over from poetry to long novels, film and television script creation, and now he has also created fairy tale works. He has published 48 collections including the poetry collection "Epic of the Eurasia", the novel "Secret History of Kunlun Mountains", the collection "Animal Kingdom of Kekexili", and the fairy tale "Snow Leopard Prince", as well as over 100 collections of film and television scripts such as "King Peacock". He initiated the Great Poetic Movement (GPM) in 2007, which is known as one of the three major movements in the world poetry scene along with the World Poetry Movement (WPM) and the Beijing Postmodernism Poetry School (BPP). He also initiated the "Cao Shui- Yi Sha Debate" in the poetry world, advocating the Poetry Film Movement and the Dramatizing Novel Movement, which had a wide influence in the literary world. In recent years, Cao Shui has won more than 80 provincial-level and above literary and artistic awards, including the First Chinese Young Poet Award, the Seventh Chinese Long Poetry Award, the "Literary Star" of the 5th Qinghai Youth Literature Award, the 4th Cao Yu Cup Script Award, the 8th Italian Apollo Dionysus Poetry Award, the 27th Italian "Octopus Bone" Poetry Award, and the 12th Russian Golden Knight Award. His works are appreciated by both the literary world and the market, and are considered one of the representative writers of China's post-80s generation.
On the 14th, July, Murad Sudani, a renowned
Arabic poet and president of the Palestinian Writers Association, presented the
World Peace Letters Award on behalf of Maria Elena Ramirez, editor in chief of
Global Humanity Magazine, to recognize Cao Shui's contribution to world peace
through literature. Cao Shui gave his acceptance speech: Thank you to Global
Humanity Magazine, especially its editor in chief Maria Elena Ramirez. Humans
originated from the same place, Africa or the Tower of Babel, and will
inevitably move towards the same ideal country. So we have no reason to go to
war, we should unite. I have always advocated the movement of great poetry,
hoping to integrate Eastern and Western cultures, ancient and modern cultures,
sacred and secular cultures, and create great poetry.
On July 19th, Cao Shui accepted the "World Excellence Award" presented by the FEDERATION OF ARTS, LITERATURE, PEACE, AND CULTURE under UNESCO, and delivered a speech of acceptance. The young Venezuelan poet Cesar translated the speech in Spanish: "I am Chinese poet Cao Shui, from the back of the earth. I am honored to receive the World Excellence Award. At the 19th World Poetry Festival in Venezuela, I would like to express my gratitude to the United Nations FEDERATION OF ARTS, LITERATURE, PEACE, AND CULTURE, especially its founder and president Miguel Leonardo Gamarra Quiroz. I have always advocated the movement of epic poetry, hoping to integrate Eastern and Western cultures, ancient and modern cultures, sacred and secular cultures, in line with the goals of the FEDERATION OF ARTS, LITERATURE, PEACE, AND CULTURE.
On the 17th July, the Great Poetry Movement Medal was awarded to Ana Maria Oviedo Palomares, the President of the World Poetry Festival in Venezuela! In recognition of her contributions to poetry and epic poetry, she not only founded the World Poetry Festival, but also initiated the World Poetry School. The Great Poetry Movement awarded her the Great Poetry Movement Medal for 2025 on behalf of the Great Poetry Movement Organizing Committee. For this purpose, the organizing committee has specially added a Chinese national flag. Anna Maria delivered her acceptance speech.
The Great Poetry Medal is made of pure silver, with a diameter of 70mm, a thickness of 3.4mm, and a weight of 70 grams. From design to casting, it was created by renowned artists. The portrait was taken by the famous photographer Song Zuifa, the medal was designed by the famous sculptor Zhang Guoliang, and the seal was carved by the famous calligrapher Gu Mingchuan; On the front is the portrait of Cao Shui, the initiator of the Great Poetry Movement, written in both Chinese and English: Great Poetry Movement; On the back is an ancient three leaf clover map of Asia, Europe, and Africa, annotated with the English words ASIA, EUROPE, and AFRICA. The map was drawn by German geographer Heinrich Bünting in 1581 and represents the ancient world known at the time. Here, it symbolizes the common home of humanity and is surrounded by carvings of the core ideas of the Great Poetry Movement, which are "the integration of the past and the present, the integration of the East and the West, and the integration of the sacred and secular". The Great Poetry Movement began with Cao Shui writing the "Manifesto of the Great Poetry Movement" in 2007 and has now spread to major languages around the world. From 2023, the Committee of the Great Poetic Movement will select 2-4 international poets who have made outstanding contributions to great poetry and epic poetry every year. The medal of 2023 will be awarded to the Türkiye poet Nurduran Duman, the chairman of Homer International Poetry Festival, Haluk Sahin, and the former chairman of Kazakhstan Writers Association, Ulugbek Yesdaulet. The medals for the year 2024 were awarded to Fernando Rendon, President of the Medellin International Poetry Festival, American poet George Wallace, and prominent UAE poet Adel Hoxham. The medal for the year 2025 was awarded to Vadim Terekhin, Vice President of the Russian Writers Association.
On July 14th, Cao Shui, the Executive Chairman of the 5th Silk Road International Poetry Festival, presented the Annual Poet Award of the Americas to the famous Venezuelan poet Yuri Patino at the 19th World Poetry Festival on behalf of the organizing committee. Yuli delivered an award-winning speech on the spot. China is the latest superpower in the world. China's rise will certainly bring about the rise of China's poetry. China's the Belt and Road Initiative has provided a new platform for the exchange of world civilizations.
On the July 13th, poets who participated in the 19th World Poetry Festival were invited to the Caracus International Book Fair in Venezuela and warmly welcomed by local readers. At the Confucius Institute exhibition area in China, they heard that Cao Shui was a Chinese poet and came to take a group photo. Encounter the Spanish poetry collections of famous Chinese poets Jidi Majia and Xi Chuan, and take a photo with the readers. Many readers along the way, upon hearing that Cao comes from China, refer to him as' China Cao '.
On the July 14th, poets
went to participate in the National Poetry School event in Venezuela, which was
the first poetry school of the World Poetry Movement internationally. Six
award-winning young poets recited and received their awards, and the scene was
very lively. VivaTV from Venezuela interviewed Cao Shui, who said in English:
"Poets all have a poetic heart, so establishing a national poetry school
in Venezuela is a great thing. I also practiced poetry school at Hutai
Elementary School in China, hoping to cultivate poets from an early age. I hope
these poets can blend ancient and modern, combine things, unite heaven and man,
and create great poetry." He was warmly welcomed by the poet students on
site.
On July 20th, Freddy ñañez, Vice President of Venezuela, Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Coordinator of the World Poetry Movement in the Americas, and President of the World Poetry Festival, awarded the highest artistic medal to Palestinian poets. He met poets participating in the World Poetry Festival.
Freddy talked to Cao Shui and thanked him for bringing beautiful Chinese poetry. He congratulated Cao Shui on winning many world poetry awards, and hoped to strengthen cooperation between Asia and the Americas within the World Poetry Movement. This time, an agreement has been reached in Spanish for the translation, publication, and distribution of the epic of the Eurasian continent, which will be showcased at the 20th World Poetry Festival in Venezuela.
On the evening of July 19th, the final recitation of the 19th World Poetry Festival was held at a theater in Venezuela. Freddy ñañez, the President of the Poetry Festival, Vice President of the country, Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism, and Coordinator of the World Poetry Movement in the Americas, attended the speech. Afterwards, a banquet was held to celebrate the successful holding of the Poetry Festival.
n this event, poets from over 40 countries around the world participated in recitations, seminars, forums, and visited the historic city of Caracas, the Avila Mountains, as well as the coastal towns of La Guaira and Merida, fully experiencing this vibrant country.
Cao Shui also visited Türkiye on July 12 and 22, visited the historic city of Istanbul again, and felt the collision of Eastern and Western civilizations. Nurduran Duman, a famous Turkish poet, held the "From China to Türkiye Poetry: Cao Shui's Listening to the Heartbeat of the World in Istanbul" recitation in his workshop, which achieved good results. The female host asked Cao Shui: Why do you always go to the Hagia Sophia. Cao Shui said: The history of the East and the West changed forever here in 1453, and I feel the fusion of Eastern and Western civilizations, ancient and modern civilizations here.
Cao Shui and the renowned Iranian poet Mohsen Rahjerdi jointly presented the European Poet of the Year Award at the 5th Silk Road International Poetry Awards on behalf of the Silk Road International Federation Organizing Committee to New York. Türkiye's famous "Enlightenment Daily" gave an exclusive interview to Cao Shui and Nurduran, and published their interviews in two installments. The theme of Cao Shui's interview is' The Great Poetry Movement is the Trend of World Poetry '. The theme of New York City is: The rise of China is accompanied by the rise of Chinese aesthetics, and the Great Poetry Movement is a representative of Chinese aesthetics.
Cao Shui's "Epic of the Eurasia" has been
translated into Italian, Arabic, and English this year. During this poetry
festival, the goal of translating into Spanish, Persian, and French was
achieved, and its influence in the international poetry world has been

expressed that with the rise of China, Chinese aesthetics are also on the rise,
